Rio Marié 2018 Season Fishing Report Week 3: Sept. 27 - Oct. 4

Week 3: Sept. 27 - Oct. 4

Weather: The weather during our fourth week was pretty hot. Temperatures ranged between 32–37°C.

River Conditions: Water levels steadily dropped day by day. With very low water conditions, we found sand bars where we could spot some nice fish to cast to.

Fishing Conditions: The water has been dropping since the first week of September, putting the river in low water conditions. This forces the fish to be more concentrated on some deeper parts of lakes, the mouths of jungle creeks, but mostly in lagoon mouths and sand bars, allowing us to spot fish.

Highlight of the Week: Medium-sized, five-inch streamers have been working the best. Fish were slow for poppers, but we caught a few big peacock bass with them.

We also had some crazy sight fishing in sand bars, making for great wading and double hookups with big fish. Sight fishing and wading for giant peacocks over 80 cms was the best of the best!
