Rio Marié 2017 Season Fishing Report Week 3: Sept. 28-Oct. 5

Week 3: Sept. 28-Oct. 5

Weather: The weather during our third week was rainy the first two days with temperatures a bit lower and overcast skies for the rest of the week. Temperatures ranged between 25 - 35C.

River Conditions: We started the week with raising water. The Marié presented sand beaches underwater, and lagoons and lakes were in good condition. Some tributaries and small jungle creeks dropped a good amount of water. During the week the river raised three feet.

Fishing Conditions: We encountered challenging fishing conditions in the beginning of the week. The clouded sky and abrupt drop in the water temperature made fish lazy. Despite the negative conditions, anglers kept fishing hard every day, and by the end of the week everyone experienced the power of the Marie's famous gigantic peacock bass! Most of the big fish were caught using big streamers and intermediate tips.

Fishing Stats:

Number of Anglers: 8

Butterlfies Caught: 377

Temensis Caught: 57

Temensis Over 10lbs: 10

Temensis Over 15lbs: 22

Temensis Over 20lbs: 3

Highlight of the Week: The tough conditions did not keep anglers from experiencing the explosive action of 2-4 big fish per day with amazing giant peacocks! There's no place like this in the Amazon. Teamwork and dedication between our anglers and guides paid off!
