Rio Marié Season 2021 Fishing Report Week 5: Oct 3 to 10

Weather: Our week was warm and overcast days and some rains.
Temperatures between: 25 and 33 C

River Conditions: We started the week with excellent conditions and by mid week, after heavy rain, the levels evened out and the rain cooled off the water in the main river.

Fishing Conditions: After three days of fishing in the upper section of the river with very good results, we moved down the Marie River to the Turi River to finish our week, stopping along the way for one day on the middle section of the Marie.

This week, as in the past, some of our more adventurous guests explored some new fishing areas. We added three new lakes to our list, and to commemorate a successful exploration, we captured a 20 lbs. temensis on our first visit! We deemed this lake “Sacado Cangrejo” to honor one of our guides, Charly, who discovered it.

Fishing Stats:
Number of Anglers: 12
Butterflies caught: 528
Temensis caught: 79
Temensis Over 10lbs: 18
Temensis Over 15lbs: 13
Temensis Over 20lbs: 2

Highlight of the Week: Our highlight of the week is dedicated to Diogo, who accompanied his father on their Rio Marie adventure, his first experience with fly fishing. Not only did he finish off the week as an expert caster, but he also captured his first temensis over 10 lbs.
