Rio Marié 2022 Season Fishing Report | Week 2 August 28 to September 04

Weather:

We had mostly sunny days and some rain by the end of the week.

Temperatures between: 23ºC and 40ºC

River Conditions:

Water level started to rise due to increased rain upstream.

Fishing Summary:

The first Brazilian group of the season arrived excited after hearing about our first week’s luck and could not wait to get their lines wet. Unfortunately, due to the rain coming from Colombia, the river started to rise slowly and the fish suddenly became shy. But that didn’t intimidate the anglers, who worked hard and managed to catch the big peacock bass they came looking for.

Fishing Stats:

Number of Anglers: 11 from Brazil and 1 from the USA.

Butterflies Bass Caught:  458

Temensis Over 10lbs: 15

Temensis Over 15lbs: 16

Temensis Over 20lbs: 2

Highlight of the week:

Every angler dreams of catching their record fish, and when it comes to peacock bass, there’s no place better to do that than the Marié River. Thiago knew that, and came in pursuit of a fish longer than 85 cm. to break his personal record. He did not only accomplish this, but did so in style with an absolute monster 91 cm. Açu Peacock Bass! Congratulations, Thiago!

See you next week!
