RIO MARIÉ 2022 SEASON FISHING REPORT | Week 6 September 25 to October 2

Weather: We had mostly sunny days during the whole week, with some rain on the last day.

Temperatures between: 26 ºC and 40ºC

River Conditions: Water level kept really low during the week.

Fishing Summary:  For the last week, we received one of the funniest groups of the season! These family and friends came all the way from South Africa to enjoy a vacation meeting the giant peacock bass of the Rio Marié. They certainly shook hands with a few, and even the rookie anglers ended up catching those mighty fish while enjoying the experience of being in the middle of the Amazon Rainforest.

Fishing Stats: Number of Anglers: 01 from Brazil, 9 from South Africa and 01 from USA

Highlights of the week:

After finding a peacock bass nest and spending more than an hour casting to it, Wade and his friend Andrew both snagged the line on their spinning gear. Having no other option, Wade pulled out his fly rod, and after some fierce casting, engaged in an adrenaline pumping fight with the fish of a lifetime. He needed to unwrap the line from some branches and then follow the fish all the way to the other side of the lagoon to finally land his first 20 pound peacock bass from the Rio Marié! Congratulations, Wade!!
See you next week!
