Rio Marié 2022 Season Fishing Report | Week 7 October 2 to 9

Weather: We got mostly sunny days during the whole week.

Temperatures between: 25 ºC and 40ºC

River Conditions: Water level kept dropping and is now really low, so some fish moved from the lagoons to the main river.

Fishing Summary: When our water level reaches its current state, the usual fishing inside the lagoons becomes outstanding on the Marié’s sandbars. Sight casting for big fish in a structure free environment is possible, and the anglers who manage to hook a big fish in that scenario get a fight they will never forget.

Fishing Stats: Number of Anglers: 01 from UK, 08 from USA and 2 from Brazil

Peacock Bass Caught: 616

Temensis Over 10lbs: 20

Temensis Over 15lbs: 19

Temensis Over 20lbs: 1

Highlights of the week:

Jeff was casting at the lagoon bank when he saw a fallen tree. He cast, knowing that a big fish, if hooked, would break him off in seconds. Of course, the fish was there and acted exactly as we expected it would, heading straight for the trees. Having no other option, Jeff quickly closed the gap and jumped into the water, proceeding to carefully pass the rod under the tree and finally land his first peacock bass of the Marié River. Congratulations, Jeff!

See you next week!
