Rio Marié 2017 Season Fishing Report Week 4: Oct. 5-12

Week 4: Oct. 5-12

Weather: The weather was a little bit warmer in our fourth week, and it was mostly sunny. Temperatures ranged between 30-35C.

River Conditions: We had rising water during the week up until last day. The Marié experienced sandy beaches under water, and lagoons and lakes had high water level conditions. Some tributaries and small jungle creeks were pumping a good amount of water. Overall, the river rose about three feet during the week.

Fishing Conditions: We had the greatest amount of success fishing with streamers. High water conditions forced us to use intermediate and heavy sinking tips, and these conditions along with lower temperatures at the beginning of the week made fish reluctant to take flies on top. This changed at the end of the week when the water stopped rising.
