Rio Marié 2019 Season Fishing Report October 3-10

Rio Marié 2019 Season Fishing Report
October 3-10

Weather:
We had very warm weather, overcast days, and a few strong showers during the week. Temperatures ranged between 27° and 34°C.

River Conditions: The water levels have risen about three feet due to heavy rains at the headwaters of the Marie. Rain also caused the temperature to drop on some days.

Fishing Conditions: Fishing conditions were affected by the increased water levels that came midweek.  We started the week at the confluence of the Rio Marie and the Turi, and after fishing for two days at the lower part of the Rio Turi, we ventured down the Marie toward the western limits of our exclusive fishing area.

Fishing Stats:

Number of anglers: 10
Butterflies caught: 528
Temensis caught: 87
Temensis over 10lbs: 16
Temensis over 15lbs: 10
Temensis over 20lbs: 6

Highlight of the Week: Despite the changes in the water levels, our guests caught some great fish — and they caught a lot! Anglers landed 528 butterflies and 87 temensis that ranged from 2 to 22 pounds! Another highlight was welcoming our youngest member to the 20 Pounder Club. With the help of his father, Enrico (7 years old) landed three peacocks that were more than 20 pounds! Finally, we were excited to have well-known angler Maddie Brenneman and her fiancé and accomplished photographer Nick Kelley join us at Rio Marie. Maddie landed a giant 22-pound temensis on the last day! Epic Week!
