Rio Marié 2019 Season Fishing Report November 14-21

Rio Marié - 2019 Season Fishing Report
November 14-21

Weather:
We had cloudy weather for the first two days of the week, followed by sunshine with some quick, occasional showers during the day and some longer rain showers at night.

Temperatures ranged between 35-37°C.

River Conditions: We started the week fishing near the confluence of the Rubo River and the Upper Marié where the water levels were high and continuing to rise. We moved the mothership down the confluence of the Marié and the Turi, and we discovered that the Upper Turi hadlower water levels.

Fishing Conditions: The week was slow in terms of numbers of fish caught, but we caught some awesome big fish by going far up to the Upper Turi River, where there were ideal water conditions. Catching a giant required persistence, but anglers got it done.

Fishing Stats:

Number of anglers: 9
Butterflies caught: 69
Temensis caught: 36
Temensis over 10 pounds: 11
Temensis over 15 pounds: 9
Temensis over 20 pounds: 4

Highlight of the Week
: A very nice peacock about 91 centimeters long was caught on the first day by Juan from the Dominican Republic. Considering we usually only  catch 5 or 6 fish that are 90+ centimeters during the whole season every year, this fish was certainly one to celebrate. The fish was measured, tagged, and photographed before it was released back to the river. Well done, Juan!
