Rio Marié Season 2021 Fishing Report Week 1: September 5 to 12

Weather: Our week was warm and we had some showers and overcast days, with temperatures between 25 and 33 C.

River and fishing conditions: The water is still dropping quickly on the Turi and Marié rivers, with cooler water temperatures, although we anticipate an increase in temperature with some sunny days ahead.

We started our week on the confluence of the Turi and Marié rivers, and we are working towards the middle section of Marié as we finish up our week. The river is in excellent fishing condition after 20 months of rest without angling pressure.

We started to see some nests and the movement of Temensis peacock bass improved day by day.

Fishing Stats:

Number of anglers: 12

Butterflies caught: 472
Temensis caught: 115
Temensis over 10lbs: 18
Temensis over 15lbs: 22
Temensis over 20lbs: 6
Total: 115 Temensis caught with successful tags planted in them.

Highlight of the Week:

The number of Peacock Bass is well worth highlighting, with main congratulations this week to our guests Michael and Malte who caught seven Temensis over 15 lbs. on one epic morning. They even set a new record for our operation!
