We are pleased to be offering a very exciting Marié & Pirarucu combo trip that will surely appeal to anglers looking for two unique experiences on one trip.
Marié & Pirarucu – combo trips.
Pirarucú is located within the Mamirauá Reserve, about 600 km west of Manaus. This destination is home to a complex of lakes and channels between the Solimões River and Japura River. Mamirauá was the first Sustainable Development Reserve in Brazil, legislated by the Government of Amazonas in 1996, and it remains the largest arapaima reserve in the world.
The area receives a large population of migrating arapaima every season inside this very protected area. These big fish travel in schools ranging from 20-400 pounds!
We have exclusivity to access and fish the core of Mamiraua Reserve — the largest arapaima reserve on earth where any kind of fishing in the core area was always previously forbidden. This is a complex of lakes, channels and rivers where huge populations if arapaima feed and spawn.
The fishing season at our new arapaima destination is the same for our giant peacock bass fishery, so you can fish both destinations on same trip with very easy connection between both without losing valuable travel time.
The season is mid-September to early December, and we still have good dates for both places. The Marié fishing week is Thursday-Thursday, and Pirarucu is Friday-Thursday, so we created a perfect combo trip that first takes on the big peacocks at Marié and then the giant arapaima in Pirarucu.
Don’t let this chance go, and come experience the most intense fly fishing experiences in Brazilian Amazon.
